"All art is propaganda. It is
universally and inescapably propaganda; sometimes unconsciously, but
often deliberately, propaganda."
~ Upton Sinclair
News update: The crisis in"wherever! It would seem old hat by now; you'd think crisis fatigue would have set in. All the issues are carefully framed for public consumption. The President issues an executive order for all "future" government contracts pay a minimum wage of $10.00 per hour. That's taking a stand all right, you show em what for! Now, who does government issue these contracts too? They issue them to contractors, don't they? So if the government wants to re-roof the Pentagon or design a new cruise missile, how many of those workers are earning under $10.00 per hour? It was a meaningless proclamation, its propaganda.
Obama saying: "I feel your pain." He doesn't give a damn about it and won't do anything to help alleviate it, but he feels it, because he cares. Why his wife, she dug an organic garden at the White House, because she cares so much about nutrition. Her husband signed the Monsanto Protection Act into law, which was then reauthorized and extended by Congressional Republicans. See how the two political Parties differ on the issues? Republicans are just mean and nasty and heartless. The Democrats, well they're mean and nasty too, but they'll plant an organic garden, before they support a law to protect a huge chemical corporation from prosecution.
When Barack Obama lifted the forty-year ban on deep water oil drilling imposed after a massive oil spill off of Santa Barbra coast, not one Republican complained. Not one Republican took to the well of the House to warn of potential disaster and neither did any of the Democrats. After the largest oil spill in known human history, took place in the Gulf of Mexico, nobody blamed Barack Obama. Republicans railed about birth certificates and Obama care, but when the administration used the oil company's estimates for the size of the spill, Republicans were Sphinx silent. Neither side of the aisle wishing to speak of those issues. Remember how the Republicans complained about Obama's abuse of power, when he used the Coast Guard to block reporter's access to the Gulf? Nope, me neither.
