Syrian
President Bashar al-Assad's bloody crackdown on his people is devastating
and horrific. but it pales in comparison to what those innocent civilians might
face if Israel makes good on its threats.
Israel has decided to come down hard on Syria, demanding that they rid themselves of chemical weapons in light of the uprising ... or else. Naturally, the United States is backing Israel -- but why?
The Telegraph reports:
"As the violent government crack down on Syrian civilian protestors enters its eleventh month, Israeli intelligence now regards the fall of the Assad regime as inevitable."Syria's massive stockpile of weapons includes surface-to-air missiles, high-trajectory long-range rockets and missiles, biological and chemical weapons, which are currently under the watchful guard of government troops.
"An Israeli defence official was quoted last week in free Israeli daily Israel Hayom, a paper closely affiliated with prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning that the transference of chemical weaponry to Lebanon would be tantamount to a declaration of war by the Lebanese government, adding that Israel would act to prevent such a move."
Couple this saber-rattling with the recent threats from Israel to Iran and it seems a new war is inevitable. Hang on, Truthseekers, this could get ugly ... fast.
And -- no shock here -- Karen Handel, former Georgia Secretary of State and (until today) current VP of Public Policy for the Susan G Komen Foundation has resigned under the weight of controversy over her scheme to manipulate Komen into de-funding its grant to Planned Parenthood. Hope she doesn't try to come back home, our cup runneth over with right-wing nuts already (see: Newt, Cain, Barr, Zell, et al).
Getting crazy out there. Must be something in the water.
