I would hop on this band wagon in seconds if I thought the strategy would work. I've always been for progressive change. Now I'm a worried, like every one here, about the future with Republicans winning so thoroughly politically. Won't they be forced to change at this late date if we stop putting them on the defensive? I think we need to be talking to our Republican neighbors. What are they thinking?
David Crymes Portland, Oregon:
When will the theft of the first peoples land come to a stop. The pipeline will transport the dirites and most polluting oil in the world. I am getting old but will come out there if the abuse doesn't stop.
Charlene Davies Spokane, Washington:
What he is doing is a violation of human rights. Peaceful protest is a right. We shouldn't have to ask for his prosecution. There should be mass public outrage (it would help if any mainstream press reported it, and reported it accurately instead of editorializing it like they do all "news") and our legal system's representatives should be preparing to prosecute without the people having to beg them. Even the United Nations proclaimed this action to be a violation of International Law. What does it take for America to do the right thing? Is there anyone in this country left in a position of power that has a backbone and a conscience, or is that gone and the entire power structure of the country is just corrupt and self-centered, as this governor is?
Kathy Cullen: Prosecute that smug jerk!!!! Enough is more than enough!!! Mr. Dalrymple needs to be stopped!!! He needs to be removed from office now!!!!!
It's wrong for any government officle to misuse their office against it's own people. The constitution givers all people who live in this nation the right to redress it's government.
Jacquelyn Myers UCLA: He should be ashamed of himself and the horrible treatment to our relations. I saw a mother's testimony of how they stripped her young daughter (a water protector) naked and left her overnight in a dog kennel-type cell at the Sheriff's jail. They didn't give her a jump suit until the next day. No food, and no water! That is unacceptable! All native people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Today they have removed drinking water from the camp. What's next? Death?
Jessica Kennedy Continuing Education Instructor at UNLV This man is a reflection of this nation's direction. It is beyond deplorable. It is beyond disgraceful. It is inhumane. Period.
Claire Artis Emerson College, England YES, prosecute the hell out of him and get him out of office.
Donald Track Sr. Bailey tech There was no violence there until DAPL LLC paid the governor to bring in his armed mercenaries to harass the peaceful praying citizens. The governor and all involved should be held accountable for their actions.
Nancy Harris University of Rhode Island Providence Campus He is a disgrace and he deserves to be prosecuted for the crimes he has allowed against Our Native Americans!
