Vice President Joe Biden visited a charitable organization in South Los Angeles, where he spoke about the $787 billion federal economic stimulus package. He toured the Esperanza Community Housing Corp., which provides low-income residents in the Figueroa Corridor neighborhood with affordable housing and health services assistance. The Vice President announced nearly $100 million in federal stimulus funds will be made available to help eliminate dangerous lead-based paint and other health hazards from low-income homes.
