That's why I hope you will go to www.PeoplesLobby.us and read its "American World Service Corps Congressional Proposal," which is a means to dramatically grow the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Head Start, Habitat, etc., and establish a robust, cost-effective one-million-per-year National Service program. Pester Congress as part of bringing a much bigger PC world home.
Incidentally, I went back to visit the Cheshire Home in the year 2000. It was prettier, bigger, and shadier. The other night I looked at it on the web and had to smile at the many programs and happy faces it showed.
I hoped that some who contributed to that over the decades Cheshire Home growth came from that first winning crew of blessed Cathedral John Connon School kids who addressed needs decades ago.
As for Teresa Vericat and me? I heard while working as a PCV that Teresa had on occasion kept the Mumbai Cheshire Home going by drawing down on her Spanish inheritance. On top of all her innate beauty, she was a woman with money.
What more could a guy ask for? Beauty, brains, empathy, a Sound of Music voice, and money.
It didn't matter, however, regarding my attraction to her. Her boyfriend was a much stouter dude than I.
