If action-adventures are not your thing, I am sure that there are other books of fiction or fact in which the writer fills you will hope, promise and a sense of well being. I am sure that a friend can recommend a good book. If not go ask a librarian or sales person in a bookstore.
As for the Internet, as we all know, hate can come across to us in our emails. If you truly want to detoxify from this hate, just use the delete key. It is as easy as that. If you see any derogatory terms contained within an email or a web site, get away from it as fast as you can.
Last but not least but one of the most important exercises to undertake is when meeting a new person or a person of another race, let the walls come down. I know it sounds hard, but just give it a try. People are pretty much the same if we leave politics and racial talk out of the mix. We are all just trying to get by the best we can. Start with small talk, but please leave politics out of it. Politics has a nasty habit of dividing us. If you are a political junkie like me resist asking that question; so what party do you belong to?
You have heard that corny phrase “talk about the weather”, I say go for it. Oh, by the way, do not bring global warming into the mix, at least not yet. Not until you have gotten to know the person. In trying this exercise you may find you have similar interests and if you do that is the greatest detoxifier known to man. You just may have found a true and lasting friend.
