I ask you again, what about our children, grandchildren and nuclear power? I am wanting to sear these facts on your brains, minds, hearts, souls - so you can never ever say, "I did not know." "If only I had known." "Why didn't someone tell me."

Pilgrim is a public health and public safety emergency. You must take action.

In "The Medical Implications of Fukushima," Dr. Helen Caldicott told us in 2013 that "Children are 10 to 20 times more vulnerable to the carcinogenic effects of radiation than adults. Little girls are twice as sensitive as little boys and women are more sensitive than men. Fetuses are thousands of times more sensitive." Dr. Caldicott calls nuclear power plants cancer factories.

Dr. Ian Fairlie warned us in 2014 that "There's a very clear association between increased child leukemias and proximity to NPP's [nuclear power plants]."

Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS) quotes many experts saying that there is "NO SUCH THING AS A SAFE DOSE OF RADIATION." In No Immediate Danger? Prognosis for a Radioactive Earth."Women's Educational Press, Toronto, Ontario. 1985: 45. sbn 0- 88961-092-4, Rosalie Bertell, PhD, states that "there is no safe level of exposure to ionising radiation, and the search for quantifying such a safe level is in vain."

Beyond Nuclear wrote in June 2013 a fact sheet about "Nuclear Power and Children." Here is just one of their facts; there are many more in the link. "HEALTH RISKS FROM RADIATION"

"In the National Research Council's 2006 report on the Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation, the BEIR VII Committee "judges it unlikely that a threshold exists for the induction of cancers but notes that the occurrence of radiation-induced cancers at low doses will be small." (p.10). This does mean, however, that any dose of radiation, no matter how small, carries health risks.

Radiation exposure is strongly linked to cancers like leukemia, and solid cancers like lung, breast, and many others. Exposing children or a fetus in the womb can increase the risk of these diseases in adulthood.

Radiation is also linked to non-cancer effects, including birth defects, cardiovascular ailments, immune and endocrine system disorders, and other major health problems."

Why can't each one of you say CLOSE PILGRIM NOW? Why can't you say it collectively? That would be so powerful.

THERE IS MUCH GOOD NEWS ABOUT ALTERNATIVES TO NUCLEAR POWER. HERE ARE SOME. A FEW OF DOZENS OF EXAMPLES.

Wind and solar are everywhere and increasing all over the world. Whether to use these clean green renewables or not is not a policy issue. It is a political issue. It is a moral and ethical issue. Period. Whose side do you want to be on? Which side are you on?

These 4 very optimistic papers were all published in February 2018.

1) Karl Grossman writes in a paper on alternative energy about Willliam E, heronemus, "the father of modern windpower." "From work with nuclear power in the Navy, Mr. Heronemus, an Annapolis graduate with two advanced degrees, concluded it is deadly dangerous--and by, instead, harvesting the wind and using other safe, alternative energy technologies, unnecessary"."
