The White House announced Deputy National Security Director and National Security Council chief of staff Mark Lippert will be returning to active duty in the U.S. Navy. Source

Day253/Oct2nd/Friday: The President and the First Lady Michelle Obama provided remarks at the Chicago 2016 presentation to members of the International Olympic Committee at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. The President and the First Lady traveled to Christiansborg Palace where they were welcomed by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Majesty Prince Consort Henrik.

The President met with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Pre-meeting Remarks

The President met with the Commander of United States and NATO troops in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, aboard Air Force One before the President departed Copenhagen to return to the United States. The 25-minute meeting was arranged after McChrystal flew in from London. Source
