Wealth redistribution is not a new idea. What may be a new idea is just to ask every billionaire, "Let's think big for a moment. Please consider leading the funding of this initiative to eliminate the root causes of war and poverty in American society. This investment, though with huge upfront costs, has the potential to really move our country forward, and should have a beneficial impact worldwide. Indeed, the future dividends for our species are immeasurable. Fate has placed all of you on the ground floor of this incredible opportunity! What do you say?" If they say yes, great, let's get to work. This is going to take a long time. If they say no, fine. Then we have to engage the conservative billionaires and their political minions, again, using the clunky political process. Wealth disparity is patently unfair and destructive. We progressives will fight. We don't want to dominate. We won't be dominated .

Thanks to John Lennon for writing Imagine, and providing the inspiration for this essay. He was taken too soon. This essay was started on the anniversary of his murder. We now have a billionaire president. Let's hope he likes John Lennon""
