5. Your two political parties have not legally set aside free blocks of time on public airwaves for campaigning and debates.
6. Your national government did not establish a high-speed rail system that would diversify travel, creating more competition.
7. Your national government has failed to establish a national health care system that prevents companies from creating new jobs because there are onerous health care costs.
8. Your national government has not strengthened democracy through referendums and term limits (except for the executive branch) and accountability through public transparency in costs and results.
9. Your two political parties have failed to establish stronger privacy laws by separating social security numbers from credit identification, a move that would substantially reduce the financial damage and chaos to your neglected citizenry.
10. Your national government spent trillions to bail out the investment industry that clearly engaged in illegal activities, without sufficient government oversight and supervision.
11. Your national government has been unable to supervise and provide adequate oversight over food, drugs, and products that kill and harm thousands of your neglected citizens annually.
12. Your two political parties failed to establish a high-speed rail system, which is among the most efficient and cost-effective means of transportation in existence.
13. Your two political parties have not established a national health care system but instead enabled jerry-rigged insurance coverage where insurance companies decide the medical fate of citizens through changeable insurance policies, practices, and prices.
14. Your local and state governments have established socialized sports stadiums for private gain resulting in at least one president making a fortune on his ownership of a sports team; yet these same politicians cannot accept a Medicare plan for all Americans that would help create new businesses and jobs.
15. Your two political parties have established run-amok accounting and accountability from Washington, D.C. to Baghdad to Kabul created by the Bush-Cheney legacy of pre-emptive wars.
16. George Washington, your first president, imposed term limits on himself. That was a model made into law yet incumbent members of Congress have a re-election rate rivaling the old Soviets Union's one-party elections.
This is just a theory from an American robin, but I think people spend too much time in their cars. Now, this constant driving of cars may, just may, inhibit or not promote clear thinking. Remember, this is just a theory. But we've got to begin somewhere.
