I'm not speaking of deviance as beating people up, rape, theft etc. I am saying we need to "get out of our box." Our box contains several thousand years of history behind it. Yes, our mentality that has been born and nourished has been a top-down affair rather than allowing for creativity. Thus we destroy the creative mind (unless that mind is bought and sold) and don't allow the fostering of creativity. The result is that we are stuck. Many of us can't think beyond our job description and making ends meet.
I also want to say I don't believe anything in the universe is dead, lifeless and with no intelligence or wisdom. Indeed, when I gaze into Mars, Venus or even the Moon, I see their essence as being alive. And that living essence entails being important to everybody else. Why hell, how would we fare within the moon, a dead satellite? Yet, the moon reflects menstrual cycles and marks the birth/death/resurrection scenario as cosmic process.
Perhaps in being in our rational mind we have become dead, just like the lifeless moon we envision? Yet, the moon's influence on us is powerful. Ask any woman whose menstrual cycles are one with the 28 day cycles of the moon.
Perhaps we all relate to the entire cosmos? Gaze into the stars and realize the proportion of empty space to planets and stars reflect the relationship of our atoms to emptiness?
How can a creative universe come up with dolphins, whales and people in the process of evolution (or devolution as I see civilization)? Perhaps whales will begin growing feet due to a warming ocean to escape a polluted ocean we created. Perhaps we will grow wings and become birds? Or, perhaps, the land-based whales may see us as a food source.
Perhaps our moving beyond standardization while living truly in a world that expresses diversity in unity is what will save us. Perhaps a corollary insight is our understanding that death is necessary for our personal evolution as well as for species evolution.
Taking in and worshipping a "Man on the Pulpit." be he priest, preacher, guru or professor, is not going to lead you to your fullest potential. What is within you is what you truly seek. Within you are infinite possibilities. You are a vital link in humanity's evolution, not a cog in our cultural machine. Thus, I say the power to break out of our mess is in our hands--not the fist of the government, not the schools, not the military, and not the churches. Nor is evolutionary power in the hands of corporations or an external god. That Infinity of God or Nature is in every one of us while saturating this planet. Each unique one of us is humanity's gift to the world. Joined as one by love and critical need, not by standardized creed, we co-create our evolution.
Thus is a "bottom-up" world. You, the readers, are the answer and serve as the foundation of change!
