Harmless.
Since the enterprise of slavery captured the imagination of the American people, it was business as usual for "nice" men-of-letters to paint an image of America as a pastoral paradise. From Washington to DT/45, paradise has always referred to the freedom of the Anglo-American (with Blacks as either "gardeners" or criminals. DT/45 condemns Black athletic protesters as anti-patriotic while other white Americans have tried ti depict Black Lives Matter as a terrorist organization.
Incestuous spaces kill empathy and forbid self-reflection. For, while white liberal America engages in disbelief when it comes to racism, the business-as-usual supremacy of whiteness continues: all the white store clerks, teachers, construction workers, librarians, doctors. "Women" are white. "Criminals" are Black. "Universal" values are "Western" and "humanity" is the 15 percent that is Caucasian.
So who's a supporter of white supremacy?
