Back in the barn- she can use her nose to forage through the thick straw which she will eat to fill in the gaps between meals. It fills her stomach and stops her from feeling hungry.

She can even scratch her back on the special brushes that have been installed in the barn.

How wonderful to scratch her back whenever she pleases!

She can then go in search of other mother pigs with whom she has bonded. Here they will rest while the sun warms their backs.

In this enriched environment- mother pigs are able to forage, rest comfortably, nest or play with materials such as straw. This helps them display their natural behaviors and gives them a good life worth living.

Needless to say -these pigs are much more fortunate than the former. But vegans like me would be much happier if they never were slaughtered at all.
