It is beyond question that as a 30-year adjunct faculty member who has received an award for 20 years of service to Community College of Philadelphia and certificate of appreciation for ten years of service to Community's Adult Education Program, unequivocally I know I have helped hundreds of students in credit and not-for-credit classes to achieve their educational goals.
In truth, as the News One Staff's article "Black College Students Need Black Professors wrote, "They [Black Faculty] also challenged black students and make them work harder because they [Black Faculty] understand the racism and global competition students will face when they leave college."
