That's why on the question of Trump remaining in the White House if he loses in November, I will be the outlier and say, far from remaining in the White House, Trump the bluffer will exit the White House almost immediately and never return. He may stay for a few days or more-only enough time to destroy documents, as he has previously done, and other evidence that may reveal his incompetence and/or possible illegal activities. He will then most likely retreat and hide behind the barricades at Mar-a-Lago, where he will fire off a barrage of Tweets accusing others of blame and fraud. He will deny any responsibility for his monumental failures and loss in the election.
If the Irish bookmakers are taking action on whether or not he will leave the White House after losing the election I will take any odds and bet that he flees almost immediately.
If I am proven wrong, one other safety net guarantees he will leave the White House after Joe Biden is sworn in as 46th president and commander in chief of the armed forces on January 20, 2021. Biden could inform the Joint Chiefs of Staff (two veteran army officers have already alerted Gen.Mark Milley) that in violation of the constitution Donald Trump refuses to leave the White House.
Our leading generals have assured us that they are patriots dedicated to their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Initially, they might dispatch military police to the White House with a friendly message of advice on the wise course of action for the transfer of power in our constitutional democracy.
When that news reaches Trump, he will declare victory and go home. Just as Roy Cohn taught him.
That said, there's no telling what vindictive damage he might inflict between November and January. That's something worth thinking about and planning for.
