The propaganda campaign launched relative to Libya's military and government was not limited to the victims, but also falsely claimed that Libya's government used military aircraft to attack Benghazi civilians, and reported rapes by the army and security forces.
The impotence drug Viagra was falsely claimed to have been found in Libyan tanks in Benghazi. Where is the evidence of this? The Libyan army neither has a professional, moral young army that think to commit such crimes nor need Viagra to activate their sexual desires. These fabricated stories are similar to the false claim regarding the fake Iraqi "seven minutes MWDs attack". Today, the Iraqi and the Libyan cases are rejected by the Iraqi and Libyan people, as well as by the American and the European public and media.
Also demonstrably shown to be false were claims that African and Algerian mercenaries fighting against rebels with the Libyan army and pilots defected to Malta. None of these claims have been proven to this day, but rather investigations have shown them to be false. UN, Western States investigations, and human rights groups such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have not proven one case from among the approximately 8000 cases claimed by the Libyan opposition figures. In fact, all these cases were fabricated.
Similarly, the claimed use of Mirage aircraft from airbases in the far West of Libya to attack civilians in Benghazi has never been documented. In point of fact these aircraft could not even begin to attack Benghazi and return to their base in the West given the distance and required fuel consumption. It is simple not possible for this type of aircraft to attack targets 1,500 KM distant and return to their base without refueling.
The International Court of Justice (ICC) targets Saif Al-Islam Qaddafi while ignoring massive crimes
During the summer of 2011, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Moammar Qaddafi, Saif Al-Islam Qaddafi and Abdullah Al-Senussi charging all speciously with committing crimes against humanity in Libya. Despite the seriousness of the crime, the ICC has to date not even conducted any investigations on the ground (Libya) nor has the ICC reached any conclusions or even identified the perpetrators, within the given two weeks from the UN resolution, instructing the ICC to begin its work. Two weeks allotted for the charge to be announced was not sufficient to even investigate traffic penalties.
As Al-Jehani, the ICC-Libyan government coordinator, asserted: "the ICC case against Libya was purely political because the NATO countries ordered the National Transitional Council (NTC) to prepare a list of officials for the ICC to be charged with crimes against humanity." The NTC assigned Al-Jehani to prepare a list with dozens of names, however the ICC selected only the above three names. In his statement Al-Jehani also added that all the accusations were fabricated. He repeated these views when he met Saif Al-Islam Qaddafi and advised him: "it's impossible for the Libyan judiciary to find you guilty." Al-Jehani added that we (Al-Jehani and his team) fabricated this case against him because we simply knew in advance that the criminal part is a lost case but we brought it forward to implicate Saif Al-Islam Qaddafi in financial and corruption cases. Al-Jehani has justified his fabrications as being permissible during wars but very difficult to be proven in court. (Al-Jehani statement was documented on 1/1/2012 and subsequently filed with the Al-Zintan Court which heard Saif Al-Islam's case).
The ICC has clearly adopted a double standard on Libya's civil war and the NATO intervention, implicating the Libyan political figures in fabricated crimes, while it ignored and failed to condemn the barbaric killing of Moammar Qaddafi and his son Al-Motassem by NATO backed militias. The only action by the ICC was to drop the case against Qaddafi after his death, while ignoring the clear case against his killers. The torture killing of the Qaddafi father and son were filmed and well documented by the media and require little additional evidence to bring those responsible to justice. The ICC has easy access to several of the perpetrators as they assumed political positions and diplomatic posts in various European capitals.
