That leaves Tom Steyer and the question remains: Why? He is a candidate in search of a cause. Last month it was climate change. Before that it was impeachment. This month it's term limits. Term limits are what the party out of power calls for until they become the party in power.
The year ends with fewer candidates but little more clarity. It's the progressives against the rest of them. May the best progressive win.
