After about an hour, the marchers decided to continue on marching. I followed for a few blocks, then decided, that at 4:30, lunch had been long enough deferred, and headed for South Street. I grabbed a bit, then saw a big crowd in Wooden Shoe, Philly's activist/anarchist bookstore where I've enjoyed many a lecture-- the latest by progressive sportswriter Dave Zirin. The store was celebrating its 35th birthday and a lot of the Occupy Philly people were there. Turned out there was going to be live entertainment.
Music for Anarchists-- Erik Peterson Plays at Wooden Shoe Anarchist Bookstore 35th Bday
I showed up at the Wooden Shoe anarchist book store after covering the Occupy Philly Dec. 3 post-encampment eviction Occupy 2.0 march. A lot of the marchers showed up at the store.
I wish I caught the beginning of this but all the lyrics repeat.
The song encourages children to do the things that society usually tells them not to do-- Play with fire, use your parents' power tools...
The song was requested by the four year old girl Lilliana in the video, who sings along. Permission from her father was requested before posting.
