With legislators like these on your side, who need to concern him- or her self with Republicans? It's all so Gary Gilmore-ish.
The one matter, perhaps, the Democratic senators, and the Blue Dog Democrats in the House, seem to have failed utterly to comprehend is that, not only are they putting the country at risk by not supporting reform that is essentially nothing less than CPR, they're also putting at risk the majority party status and chairmanships they currently enjoy. The Party was swept into power by an enthusiastic army of volunteers, supporters, and voters who were clamoring for, among other things, the highly specific changes to the present health care crisis cited here. Failure by the Party to deliver will demoralize the ranks of those actually responsible for the Democratic tsunami. And demoralized, they will not show up to keep the Democratic Party in power in 2010, and likely not in 2012 either.
