The petroleum companies would face immense pressure to stop obstructing the development of new sources of energy which would then become a high government priority. Millions of new jobs could be created by visionaries who see solar, wind and geothermal as the means by which to diminish our dependence on oil and, at the same time, provide the means by which to address and solve the massive problem of climate change that threatens the sustainability of this planet.
We could see vast improvements in our education system that, once again, would be the envy of the world, instead of one steeped in mediocrity and weighed down by massive student debt.
Can this idealism be recaptured in the America of today so that this nation is governed according to high standards and principles and the quest for excellence? Can we see the business of this country be carried out based upon the principles of ethics, morality and humanitarian considerations?
When times are dark and things seem hopeless a small spark can ignite a brilliant fire that can light the way out of the darkness. That small spark can come from an infusion of idealism into the body of America that will provide the motivation to turn this country in a dramatically different direction.
