It also has 13 Critics Choice Awards nominations, 10 BAFTA nominations, 10 Satellite Awards nominations, 9 London Critics Circle nominations, and 7 Independent Spirit Award nominations.

 

Director Steve McQueen's first two films won numerous international awards as well, including the Venice Film Festival's FIPRESCI prize.  

 

2014 Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 16 th. The film may pick up some additional nominations in other categories beyond those it was nominated for at the Globes  -- the Academy gives statues in a number of technical categories not represented at the Globes.

Also: The SAG Awards will be held Jan. 18th. The DGA Awards will be given out Jan. 25 th. And the Oscar ceremony itself is March 2 nd.
