If the Catholic hierarchy doesn't understand by now, it never will -- this is serious hypocrisy. As a supporter in the Survivors of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), I have listened to personal stories of survivors. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for their courage and public outcry -- as we watch them continually reach out, unselfishly to ensure that the lives of other precious children are safer than theirs were.
As a Catholic community, it is time for all of us to aid the survivors of abuse. There are "Hidden" Blessings especially if we answer the scandals with personal holiness -- write a letter to a Bishop, Cardinal or an Editor of a newspaper. Share your opinions freely -- support healing, protections of children and justice in our society.
As a society we can correct the wrongs that have been committed. Afterall, our children are watching how we get out of this mess. Without justice, there will never be peace and without peace, faith is empty.
