Throwing more US lives away in the surge isn't the answer.
Jordan's King Abdullah II's view is common to other leaders of Muslim countries as the May 18, 2007 story "OIC
wants foreign troops out of Iraq" at
http://www.dawn.com/2007/05/18/top1.htm
states "Foreign ministers of 57 Muslim countries have called for "earliest possible" withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq and stressed the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the country." clearly demonstrates.
Now W is modifying the surge. Just as Rove is attempting to convince us that W has always supported the Iraq Study Group's recommendation, none of the changes in the surge policy are explained so as to maximize the muddling of the common masses' comprehension.
http://article.wn.com/view/2007/05/25/The_New_New_Strategy_for_the_War_in_Iraq_y/
states "A new, new strategy is ready to be announced months before the old new strategy is to be evaluated for effectiveness, strongly suggesting that the present new strategy has already failed. The new, new strategy has been developed by General Petraeus and the new Ambassador to Iraq. It is reported to have more emphasis on political accomplishments and is based on the removal of "bad actors" including elected and other members of the Iraqi government who are impeding progress toward stability. Such a strategy where the United States condones and may even participate in the forceful elimination of certain Iraqis other than through a democratic course of action under the rule of law, will totally antagonize even the remaining few allies of the United States in the Islamic world and the International Community. America will further erode its presently tarnished credibility through these overtly illegal acts. The United States will assuredly lose under such circumstances."
The article "Iraqi leadership's failures raise pressure on U.S. Congress may push for the premier's ouster in the coming months if no progress is made toward its 'benchmarks.'" at

details all of the current Iraq government's problem and concludes "Americans have introduced the country's first three prime ministers with the same accolades, praising Allawi, Ibrahim Jafari and Maliki as "hands-on guys, who can make the tough decisions, who we can work with," the U.S. official recalled. But in each case, the pattern quickly changes. Said the official: "It's enthusiasm, then disenchantment."
We won't be out of Iraq any time soon. That isn't what we were told going into Iraq. We were told that we'd be greeted as liberators.
If you believe W's Secretary of Defense we'll be in Iraq as long as we've been in South Korea.
The June 1, 2007 article "Gates, U.S. General Back Long Iraq Stay" at
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/31/AR2007053102430.html
states "Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates and a senior U.S. commander said yesterday that they favor a protracted U.S. troop presence in Iraq along the lines of the military stabilization force in South Korea."
W's plea for us to trust his surge until September translates into we'll be in Iraq as long as we've been in South Korea! Last week 4 boxes froze the nation's capital for 3 hours. Thanks to W's insane GWOT the bell tolls for us all.
