He has the gall to, not only excuse himself for his war, but also to excuse (or blame as the case may be) the federal government for its poor health care services for those who come back maimed, disfigured, or traumatized.
Taking a page from his father who believes in “volunteerism,” (I might add the volunteerism of the rich on the poor) Bush praises the $65 million, privately funded, rehabilitation Center for the Intrepid, which opened at Fort Sam Houston in January, as he says, “The Center is a testament to the country’s deep belief that someone who is injured in battle deserves all the help they can get.”
This puts me in mind to remember Neil Bush’s and Silverado’s Savings and Loan debacle ... I mean. It was Neill’s doing that the Savings and Loan ran to the ground—but Poppy excused Neil from making restoration to the Banking Industry and made all of the rest of us to pay for Neil’s mistake.
In the case of the Center for the Intrepid, Bush is excusing himself from his responsibility to see that the Federal Government provides for the health care needs of the wounded men and women of the military ...
A responsibility which, apparently has been, gladly, taken over by those who, wanting to fall in the good graces of the Bushes, drink all the Bush Kool-Aid served to them ... either by Bush’s Poppy or by Bush himself.(Note: You can view every article as one long page if you sign up as an Advocate Member, or higher).
