There's Nothing Titillating in the Economic Stimulus Package

Save our children and tickle our economy by forcing Mattel and other toy companies to bring the toys home.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is full of it when he insists 'we must deregulate business.'  That worked so well in the past.  China, India, Mexico and other countries don't have product regulations or standards, and we get nothing but poisonous and inferior products from them that aren't cheaper.

Another example, besides all the recalls of food, toys, pet food and baby products that we all know about, is my own experience.  At the beginning of the week both the ice maker and dryer crapped out.

My trusty Russian craftsman -- he must be trustworthy.  How can I not have faith in a who raises and trains German shepherds to perform in the movies in his spare time -- who repairs all appliances, flat out said...all the new appliances are crap from overseas.

Like I didn't already know that.

Alexei said all the new dryers have computer-controlled settings, which are always breaking.  It seemed logical to fix my eight-year-old Whirlpool that he said was in fine shape except for needing a new thermostat, plastic air exhaust hose and some small doobee that I can't remember.

It would be reasonable to think he sold me a bill of goods on two-hundred bucks worth of repairs, but my old dryer has a wide door for folding and catching falling socks, two "I-turn-'em" dials and a start button.

I can control it to do anything I want for as long as I want, unlike the new dishwasher, which will only do what the computer settings tell it to do...and it doesn't do that very well.

The bill of good that's really being sold is that these loans against our next tax bill will do anything to excite the economy.  It's a cruel ruse to get us to spend money we're not sure how much we're going to get or if were going to get, and prematurely raise the debt on our credit cards.

$300.  What will that stimulate, titillate or ignite?

Who are they kidding?  Three hundred dollars if you get that much is barely enough to buy a week's worth of groceries for a family of four.  In Southern California it won't cover one month of air-conditioning.

They're playing with the idea of giving families and extra $300 per child.  I guess people like me will have to quickly adopt a few kids to get in on the bogus bounty.

If you have kids and qualify, you might get $1,200.  That won't even buy shoes and school clothes all around.

Republican money ideas aren't working for them either.  Every candidate except Romney and Ron Paul are tapped out.  Paul must have the Midas touch, because he doesn't seem have to ask for money, his supporters part with their hard-earned dollars without being asked.

Romney made tons of money off the sweat of others, and to further illustrate how his "no regulations" is a fool's game...the current housing crisis and sub prime loans is because no one in the government was minding the mortgage lending stores.  Borrowers were duped into getting 'something for nothing' sales pitches by a bunch of snake oil salesmen.

Bad stewardship by Congress demands that they get some cajones and insist that part of the stimulus "package" include and extension of unemployment benefits and increased food stamps.
