The House of Representives needs to REPRESENT the will of the people. The majority of Americans want impeachment to proceed. As Ben Franklin said, Impeachment is a democracy’s alternative to assasination. We can question the KING and hold him to account. And we must to save our constitutional republic.

Wait a minute, this was long overdue. Finally someone had the guts to stand up and do the right thing. Cheney and Bush must be impeached to prevent future Musharifites from doing what they have done in subverting the constitution and making our security situation so much worse, not to mention all the dead and the debt….
Your post is fine as far as it goes, but you might take a look at Kucinich’s platform before saying something stupid like you have about impeachment and iraq being all he is about. Single payer health care, for example.
But at least you brought it up for discusion…. Thank you , New York Times for that!

“…and spared the Democrats a potentially embarrassing distraction”
Distraction?! And Pelosi wonders why people have nop respect for the democratic congress. Good for Kucinich! I wish he were the speaker of the house, maybe then things might change.

The American people believe in fairness and justice. Still and to their peril, leading Democrats ignore Bush / Cheney crimes and the American Ideal that holds no Vice President, no President, no administration, is a law unto themselves. As Bob Dylan sang, “Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call! Don’t stand in the doorway! Don’t block up the hall! For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled.”
This Administration run amok is assaulting our Constitution and Democrats will get hurt if they continue to stall on holding the criminals accountable. Can you hear it? “The battle outside ragin’ will soon shake your windows and rattle your walls, for the times they are a-changin’.” The public is speaking. Are the media and politicians listening?
