Instead of seriously working to increase gas mileage in our vehicles and developing alternative energies as Jimmy Carter and others wanted to do, we are opting to follow the path of all powerful nations before us. Confiscating what belongs to others simply because, with our unprecedented and unequalled military might, we can - might makes right.
In the eyes of the people of the world, and in the mirror of her own eyes, America is fast becoming what we railed against the Soviet Union for being when I was a kid; A thug nation, a bully nation, a nation that launches wars of aggression. A nation that represses freedoms. A nation that tortures. We are becoming what we professed to hate.
May God forgive us for all the harm we have done to the world in the name of "God and country" because of our nationalistic pride in our ability to kill and destroy, and because of our belief that the oil and all other resources God put under other people's land, somehow belong to us.Next Page 1 | 2
