So much for “protections”.

Then of course there’s the warrantless wiretapping:

~FBI whistleblower Sybil Edmond’s testimonies on-line carry a “Scam” alert.

~ACLU website links I have e-mailed myself end up routinely in my spam folder.

~And guess what: Every single one of the articles I have posted on Opednews carry a scam alert! I guess I should be complimented for telling the truth.

~Then of course, there’s the phone conversation I had with another Opednews journalist and as soon as we talked about impeachment, our words were fuzzed out. Every time. And at no other point in the conversation. We were being listened to! The friend whose phone is tapped since participating in the anti-war rally and I have had our phone connection cut off at strategic moments during our conversations. So much for listening in on “terrorists” and using the warrantless wiretapping for that purpose. If it can and did happen to me and my friends, it can and will happen to you too!

~What’s the purpose of a National ID card instead of a driver’s license?

~Why is it necessary to screen innocent civilians as suspected terrorists? For example, why the necessity to set up scanning devices on our freeways which are capable of scanning our pupils even as we drive by, of reading the text of a book we are looking at, etc…all this while the car is in motion? WHY TARGET INNOCENT AMERICANS AS TERRORISTS?

Sound more like the war OF terror than the war ON terror?

During the Anthrax attacks, Washington DC residents were instructed to seal their windows with an extra layer of plastic. Anthrax, anthrax was all over the news headliners, basically telling us without coming out and saying it that we all ought to quake in our boots. It was depicted as a plague attacking the entire nation, with letters signed by “terrorists” to “prove” (without even one single court hearing/investigation) that the “terrorists” were attacking us all. Then guess who received the Anthrax letters? Democrats in Congress, and noone else. Namely, those who opposed the unconstitutional Patriot Act.

IT’S TIME THAT WE STOP PLAYING VICTIM. WE ARE *PAYING* FOR THIS CRIMINAL ABUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION, OF HUMAN BEINGS, OF PHYSICAL AGONIES INFLICTED ON OTHERS ON OUR DOLLARS AND I REPEAT: I WOULD NEVER PAY CHARLES MANSON AND HIS GANG. WOULD YOU? GUESS WHAT. YOU ALREADY ARE!!

It’s about time We the People stood up and “Just said NO”.

Should we the People have to PAY taxes to send OUR OWN KIDS to die based on lies? REPEAT: I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT WE STOP PAYING OUR TAXES. HOWEVER: If hyping up a war based on lies is not lawsuit material, I simply don’t know what is. We have the power of the purse: Use it for moral causes to protect ourselves and innocent nations abroad who rightfully fear the war OF terror!

It’s about time we hold it over Congress’s heads that they have no right to make “laws” shredding and burning the Constitution based on fear, fear and more fear. How dare they abuse us like that while we PAY for it, even Pay THEIR SALARIES !??

It’s just not true that we have no power. Baloney!

I can say from experience that having written a letter to a very small local paper, in which I proposed an election reform plan, the idea was marched in to a Kucinich house party where Kucinich himself was present, who tried to get it passed into law. Hence the paper ballots counted in public view. A movie maker stepped forward offering to make a movie based on the idea. All from one letter to one editor of a small newspaper with only 30,000 readers! If that much outreach can come from one small letter to one local editor, how much more power do we as a nation have when writing letters to the editor, en masse?

This quote summarizes the nature of my concerns and the content of personal experiences which stir my activism: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement on human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves". --Paul (more...)
