"Religious" bigots and hypocrites ignore all that. They ignore or deny the fact that the true purpose of all religions of the world is universal, which is clear if you consider and understand their core teachings. Indeed, you will find that the golden rule is the universal divine imperative: that we should treat others as we would want to be treated if we were them. That has always been and always will be the essential, main rule and best advice, because we "reap what we sow" due to the karmic consequences of our words and actions.

That universal truth is foremost among the core teachings of most religions, including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, Sufism, Taoism, Bahaism, and even Judaism. In fact, it is perfectly clear and obvious to all truly wise, understanding, fair, reasonable, compassionate, conscientious, charitable, loving, peaceful people of good will and real faith, regardless of which religion they follow. Moreover, most agnostics and atheists also understand it, because it is a universal scientific fact that every action tends to create a reciprocal reaction. And, as is often said, "What goes around, comes around."

Unfortunately, most of the trouble in the world is caused by relatively few right-wing bigots and hypocrites who claim to be religious but are not faithful or wise or fair or reasonable. In fact, they are spiritually blind and have no faith in God. Even though they proudly claim or pretend to serve God, they actually ignore and betray God while they self-importantly and arrogantly play god. They ignore the universal divine imperative, and they even distort and twist the meaning and purpose of their religion, not only to suit their own ambitious and self-serving purposes, but even to justify their blatant bigotry, divisiveness, intolerance, imposition, and offensiveness.

Even so, these hypocritical false prophets and false "shepherds" have managed to convince growing numbers of gullible people to join their spiritually blind flocks, who support them and fight in their so-called "holy crusade" or "holy war" or "jihad" against those they self-righteously judge and condemn as "godless unbelievers" or "infidels." And, perhaps even worse, during the last 27 years their bigotry and hypocrisy has increasingly given Christianity, Judaism and Islam a bad name, and they have turned a whole lot of people off to religion altogether.

Therefore, I suggest that the most important questions you should be asking yourself right now are these:

What will deal with these ignorant, offensive religious bigots and hypocrites who have gained so much power and caused so much division, conflict, violence, destruction and killing in the world?

More specifically, what will take power away from these proud and militant leaders who claim to be fighting holy war in the name of Christianity or Judaism or Islam --- and what will empower and raise up the true majority of people in the world who are truly faithful, humble, gentle and peaceful?

In other words: What will enable the meek to inherit the earth?

For the sake of all humanity and the world we live in, and for God's sake, everyone should learn and fully realize the answer.

First, I tell you truly that it certainly will not be military force, nor will it be violent guerilla tactics against military forces. History and current events show us that resorting to violence and deadly force is usually vain folly. And besides that, there is no such thing as a "holy" war.

Granted, there have been some very justifiable wars fought against tyranny and imperialism. Also granted, there are times when good men are forced to kill as a very last resort in order to save innocent people from being terribly oppressed or murdered. That is also deemed justifiable.

Nevertheless, killing is still wrong, even when good men justifiably deem it necessary. Even if it is as a last resort to save lives, it is the lesser of the most terrible evils, at best. Just ask any good, conscientious person who has been forced to kill another human being in order to lawfully protect others, whether it be in police action or in war. They can tell you that taking another person's life is the most dreadful thing we can do. It is certainly not something to be proud of, or to cheer over, but something to grieve over.

That is why the most enlightened people throughout history, like the Christ Jesus, the Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi, the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., along with many other great spiritual teachers, prophets, saints, gurus, imams, monks, sages, and all other true servants of God, have been pacifists and advised non-violent activism to deal with problems and achieve liberation. They knew that the use of violence and deadly force is wrong. They knew that it usually creates increasing cycles of retaliatory violence, destruction and death, and it always produces deep, lingering hatred even after the intense fires of rage and violence burn out.

Globally speaking, only a thorough reformation of religion and government guided by the real and whole truth will set us free and bring lasting peace, because it just cannot be "won." Lasting peace will be made only by real peace-makers who are armed only with real truth and good will, because only good can overcome evil and only love can overcome hate, and two wrongs do not make a right. Moreover, the only "weapons" of God's true servants are not carnal or lethal. They are, however, mighty through God for pulling down even the greatest stronghold of worldly power, as they will do in due time.

You see, in spite of the fact that religious bigots and hypocrites have given religion and religious prophecy a bad name, real religious prophecies have been, are being, and will be fulfilled. And, foremost among those real prophecies is that a message in "the Spirit of truth shall issue judgment, guide you unto truth, and show you things to come."

All the great prophets foresaw and foretold that, including Jesus, who used those specific words. And, as you will see, the fact is that new, modern, divinely inspired words in a message from the Spirit of truth shall indeed set us free and save the world, because they will deliver true judgment and produce the divine intervention that will dispel myths, expose the false beliefs that divide us, resolve conflicts, and bring reconciliation and peace.

I am just an old life-long learner and I calls 'em as I sees 'em. Or used to. See, I just can't suffer fools, and I got tired of encountering the growing number of them. But I still come to OEN because there are still some wise writers here, and (more...)
