So that's a brief description of what we will likely see when the next president takes office, both the good and the bad; and there is little that you or I can do to alter this course. Sure we could vote for either the Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, or the Libertarian, Gary Johnson, but, in this current political system and election process, neither of them has any real chance of winning; and if we voted for either we might just pave the way for Trump to ascend to the presidency -- an unmitigated disaster.
Under a Trump presidency it will be very stormy, controversial and extremely dangerous. With a Clinton administration there would be both good and bad with some very reckless, questionable military actions. But who knows, maybe Hillary would experience an awakening, see the light, finally accept the fact that these wars are doing nothing more than backfiring, and take steps to adopt a much more sane and rational foreign policy. I wouldn't hold my breath but miracles do happen.
There are so many Americans who don't understand why we can't have better candidates in our presidential elections. The answer to the question should be quite evident. When you have a political system that has been thoroughly contaminated by mountains of corporate money that becomes the determining factor in who will win and who will lose, then the best and brightest of Americans will have no part in it. The only way to reverse this situation is to remove all that corporate money, power and control from the system; to decontaminate it.
That's why, as painful as it may be for some Americans, Hillary must win and then, as soon as it's feasible, take the necessary steps to reconstitute the U.S. Supreme Court, reverse Citizens United, and remove the stranglehold that Corporate America has on this government and our country. And then, hopefully, we will see America make a turn in a new direction; and, if we're lucky, we will never again have to experience another bizarre presidential election such as this one.
