The school board itself admitted that the March ballot was "incorrect". Voters were asked to pass a 9-mill tax, but the board promised to collect only 7.5 mills. US District Judge Ivan Lemelle allowed the school board to seek only a one-year magnet tax, but the ballot authorized three years.
