Congress needs to enact tax credits for those who do choose to “buy American,” and home-grown products need to become the standard rather than the rarity. America’s economy thrived because of a huge Middle-class, and Bush and Cheney are eviscerating a segment of our population that has been the backbone of our society. Washington makes the rules and writes the legislation, and it used to be that a robust Middle-class worked to manufacture and implement Congressional demands, some of which were a boon to certain segments of our economy. Now we even outsource certain segments of our military armaments and support equipment, crazy as far as I’m concerned, and America is lulled into a period where we manufacture less and less, and if we ever faced an embargo, it would takes months at a minimum, and years to reach our previous manufacturing capability.
Our nation has fallen upon hard times that reveal themselves almost on a daily basis. It’s getting worse, and to allow the foxes that killed all of the chickens in the coop to bring them back to life is absurd. Bush and Cheney have wreaked havoc upon every aspect of our lives, and as this financial crisis grows, the sheer incompetence and diverting public funds into private businesses should rile every American alive - and Bush and Cheney should be escorted from the White House before our destruction is complete. Working in unison, this country could find solutions to tough issues, but this constant partisan bickering and allowing Bush and Cheney to influence this debate is disgusting. When the Lobbyists descended upon Washington working every angle they could so their individual businesses could profit from the bailout it made me sick. How low is it when our economy is actually in danger of failing, but during what is no doubt a crisis (according to the While House (sic) )it’s extremely sad to see the financial buzzards picking at the rotting corpse of what used to be a robust economy.
I just read on the Huffington Post where Congress had reached a tentative deal, but the plan was:
Despite the changes made during an intense week of negotiations, the heart of the program remains President Bush’s original idea: spend billions of taxpayer dollars to buy mortgage-backed securities whose value has plummeted. LINK
I believe that we’re at the apex of everything we believe in and hope to preserve. The truth is too bitter and obvious to debate any longer, and when see people supporting Bush we have to wonder what’s wrong with them, and if they’re in Congress, what are they receiving for their support of a President the American public believes is the worst in our history. Our country is in a crisis such as I have never witnessed; the outcome of how we handle these events is likely to affect the rest of our lives. The government using taxpayer funds to hand to the wealthy is fascism; it guarantees that the American taxpayer is indebted for generations to come, and effectively changes our government into a body that is ruled by corporate interests, the epitome of fascism.
Pick up your phones and demand the resignations of these criminals. Forgetting the financial issues, Dennis Kucinich via his articles of impeachment laid-out the groundwork that demonstrates our government is being run by a criminal enterprise, not the people nor its Congress. Next time you believe that impeachment can wait because they’ve only got a few months left in office, you should reassess their position that every day gives these two more opportunity and ways to rob the American people, and I fear it may be far more than their wealth they are intent on stealing.
