Roberts who I read regularly believes Russia has an inability to understand the following:
Israel's ability to use the US government...in the Middle East.
Neo-conservative ideology and US world hegemony.
The US military/security complex's need to justify its massive budget and power.
Well...I beg to differ.
There is no way Putin and his brilliant Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov don't understand the sinister intentions of the US government and the neo-conservatives within its midst's. Whether that be in Syria, Ukraine or anywhere else for that matter.
It's just the US is a colossus. It's had sinister hegemonic motives since the end of WWII. It can't be avoided and has to be dealt with.
Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia in fact any country that doesn't subscribe to US hegemony is considered an "enemy" and its leaders demonized. It's all meant to bolster the US war economy built on $21 trillion of debt that's sustained only because the dollar remains the world's reserve currency. But I digress.
Syria unfortunately is the geo-political front line in the world today which is why the focus has to be there. Though that focus may be on Iran by May 12 when Trump must by US law recertify the nuclear deal with Iran and then North Korea when Trump meets with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un later this month or early June.
The potential for "things" in the world to spin out of control is possible. Let's hope calmer heads can prevail.
