What's this, the Pentagon considering using Russian military bases in Central Asia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan?

Apparently, Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin speaking before the Senate let the cat out of the bag saying, "President Putin offered to provide assistance" when Russian President Vladimir Putin met with US President Joe Biden in Geneva last June.

Well, well, well. What to make of this revelation? What would be the American military's task using these bases?

From here the one task that makes sense is for them to help secure the "stans" border with Afghanistan helping to prevent ISIS,K terrorists infiltrating from there while doing this alongside the Russian military and the military's of the "stans".

The Taliban may have become the new rulers of Afghanistan when it took Kabul on August 15th but there are ISIS,K terrorists operating in the country creating terrorist havoc that could pose a threat to the "stans" mentioned above as well as Russia. And why Putin doesn't want them infiltrating from Afghanistan.

Putin is well aware ISIS,K terrorism infiltrating to Russia needs to be prevented as a high priority. So him extending a hand to Biden for the American military aiding in the fight against ISIS, K type terrorism is a good gesture. It's also an attempt to bridge the current anti-Russian divide in the US that became severe when the people of Crimea voted to join the Russian Federation in 2014; this after the US provoked coup in Kiev February of that year that brought a fascist Nazi type government to Ukraine.

Let's face it, there needs to be detente between the US and Russia. The idea of provoking Russia-and China, two nuclear weapons superpowers is insane.

Even during the cold war between the US and the Soviet Union it was clearly understood by both sides it was illogical to initiate a nuclear war as the country would be annihilated in a retaliatory strike. Thus there were no direct provocations toward the other after the Cuban missile crisis in 1962.

Present day there are US provocations against Russia with NATO existing on Russia's doorstep. There are US provocations against China in the South China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, war games with South Korea and Japan. All of it revealing the US is on a dangerous path toward an unwinnable war.

Getting back to the idea of American troops operating out of Russian bases a Republican in the Senate, Deb Fischer of Nebraska slammed Biden after hearing Austin speak in the Senate.

That's typical of the Repubs when it comes to the vitriol they have towards Russia. To them Russia is just the successor to the old Soviet Union which Ronald Reagan dubbed the "evil empire" in the 1980's

Whether American troops actually take up positions on Russian military bases is not known at this time.

The guess here, it won't happen.

Why? American politics being what it is the Biden crowd won't take up Putin's offer because as usual the Dems are more afraid of the Repubs negative reaction than doing the right thing.

Something President Lyndon Johnson believed in 1965 when he escalated the war in Vietnam fearing the negative reaction of the Repubs if he didn't escalate particularly after the Gulf of Tonkin incident, an incident which we now know was a false flag initiated by the CIA blaming the North Vietnamese.
