The Libra New Moon occurs on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:13pm PDT and on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 2:13am EDT/6:13am GMT. Because it lies so close to the Autumn Equinox and Pluto turning direct, this powerful New Moon will a wonderful time to meditate and plant the seeds of cooperation and peace at home and in the world. Let the Great Goddess of Love and Wisdom guide you as you hold a space open for a new world of justice, equality, beauty and wisdom.
Each New Moon builds on the lessons learned over the past Moon-cycle. The Virgo New Moon drew in the energy of Neptune in Pisces, making use of the creative imagination to see ourselves in a larger, more archetypal way. The Pisces Full Moon was conjunct Chiron, focusing us on old wounds that need healing if we are to shed our old skins and move on to a higher consciousness. Now with the new energies in Libra, we get to see if we're really healed.
The Sabian symbol for the Sun and Moon at 2* Libra is: The transmutation of the fruits of past experiences into the seed realizations of the forever Creative Spirit. Wow! That's more an idea than an image. The original image according to Dane Rudhyar was, "The Light of the sixth race transmuted to the seventh." This is based on the occult symbolism of the 7 Rays. Rudhyar feels that this deals with the repolarization of inner energies that gives rise to a new, fuller consciousness. It's time to leave behind old habits, relationships, things, places and ideas that no longer serve your higher Self. Let them go with gratitude for the lessons they've confronted you with and the wisdom you've gained from them. You don't need them anymore!
It is time to liberate our new/old awareness that we are all One, united together with the Earth and her other children. It's time for the old consciousness of patriarchy, which is all about the power and domination of men, to give way to the partnership of men and women (masculine and feminine) and the rest of creation. May It Be So!
This New Moon forms an easy sextile (60*) to Mars at 7* Sagittarius: Eros knocks at the door of the human heart. We need to act (Mars) from our hearts on our beliefs (Sagittarius). Let love and desire work their magic on our hearts and uphold the principles of peace, justice and harmony for all. Peace is not a fantasy--it takes hard work, harder work than war. Peace is a goal. What are you willing to do to bring peace to the world?
The Libra New Moon also forms a frustrating inconjunct (150*) to Neptune in Pisces. We might have to analyze and adjust our ideas so we can fine tune our creativity to achieve our goals. Listen to your dreams and see if they give you clues about how to do it. In the new consciousness we are all striving for, we have to take our dreams and our intuitions into account in making better life decisions. We can no longer just rely on our left brain rationality--it's what's gotten us into the mess we're in. The heart knows the answers if we'd just trust it.
Jupiter in Leo is affecting the baby boomer's natal Pluto in Leo. Watch how this planet of expansion and luck brings you the next step in your evolution. And those of you with Uranus in Leo, expect big surprises!
Jupiter is squaring Saturn in Scorpio, challenging us to be creative with our emotional regeneration. It's time to grow up and own our feelings, trust our instincts and get on with our relationships. We are in relationship with everything--the Sun, Moon and Stars, the Earth and her ecosystems, the women in Iraq as well as the men who commit atrocities. Clean up your own act and the world becomes a little lighter and brighter.
And if you're near New York City this weekend (or at any of the other actions planned), think about putting your body on the line and joining the People's Climate March on Sunday, September 21st.
May you walk in the Light as the Dark is rising.

The Journey
Above the mountains
the geese turn into
the light again
Painting their
black silhouettes
on an open sky.
Sometimes everything
has to be
inscribed across
the heavens
so you can find
the one line
already written
inside you.
