Now, if the Tea Party actually practiced what was in their platform, zeroed in on this government's major problems and extremely wasteful practices, came up with viable, effective solutions and sold the American public on its plan for appropriate reforms, then they would take this nation by storm, expose the mainstream Republicans and Democrats as political hacks and take complete control of the Congress.
If they were serious about reforms and went after the Wall Street robber barons who remain unrestrained in their deceitful practices against the American people, together with the masters of Corporatism who are destroying the American workforce and the middle class, and contaminating the Congress, they would be thought of as patriots and heroes; and I might well become a staunch supporter. But that's simply not happening, this party has not directly confronted these rogue elements that are doing such damage to our nation; therefore their platform is an empty shell, being used to cover up their real identity and their agenda of obstruction and destruction of the necessary functions of government.
So, what's the solution for this massive dilemma, this national conundrum? It's certainly not to support and embrace the Tea Party and its radical agenda. And it's not to accept and condone this giant bureaucracy that can be likened to a severe wound on the body of America; one that cannot be allowed to go untreated and must be reined in before it drains the lifeblood out of this nation.
As Adams stated, ""Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men." It's time for this Congress and the White House to heed those words of wisdom for they are the entities who have the responsibility and the power to make that happen.
It's time to stop the dissension and end the obstruction and the infighting. It's time to start effectively governing this nation that is bleeding so profusely from self-inflicted wounds; it's time to stop the hemorrhaging by making those words of John Adams a reality.
