As Villanucci comes undone on the radio, talk of the bailout is sweeping the internet via email. One email chain that reached me is circulating among at least 19 of us toddlers. It rips the bailout proposal as a scam.

At least ten of these toddlers are family with roots in the heartland of Maine, up close to Canada, where you just might find a couple folks 'at know how to hunt and ride a snowmobile, buddy--that's right! Wasilly, Alaska ain't the only place 'ey know how to have a wicked good time!

Also represented in the email chain is Seattle, LA and Florida and England. Here's a glimpse into the sentiments of these toddlers, as Barnett sees them: "This issue is explosive... Let [our politicians] know we are watching them very carefully and our voting decisions will hinge on their decision."

From another: "I am literally sick in the stomach as I watch this Shock and Awe assault on... uh... Americans.  Be good Americans... Give us $700 billion!  Don't ask any questions!  Trust the EXACT people who allowed this to happen to fix it!  Hurry before it's too late!"

From another: "This is making me ill. Wall-Street elites privatizing profits and pocketing billions of dollars in compensation and we all foot the bill when their free-wheeling greed machine goes off the tracks...The whole system is rotten to the core."

From another: "As I've said before, our country now represents that which [we] fought so hard to escape in 1775...I am beyond angry... I am just so very sad today..."

From another: "Make no mistake, you are witnessing an historic transfer of wealth - these mother f**kers are destroying our country."

I've heard from other fellow-toddlers. Here's one from Missouri: "We're astounded that a 3-page document is the weak skeleton this bailout is presented upon! That's like...$233,000,000,000 per page! THe buyout is belligerent government intrusion. We'll be raising the federal debt and expanding government by hiring legions of financial-sector specialists to manage the sucker. And they're the ones who originally helped contribute to this mess."

(How come Democrats can NEVER do what the public wants? Wiretapping, immunity for telecommunications giants, off-shore drilling and now this. They are SOOOO pathetic. Feel the rush to take a stand against the power elite, Senator Chuck Schummer!)

Here's a report from a toddler in Peoria, IL: "People were saying why are they bailing out the big banks and not helping out everyday folks [sic]. And you've probably heard the phrase that is often said about Peoria: 'If it plays in Peoria...'" It plays across the country, baby.

This toddler is from Vermont: "We sent out an action alert that led with this issue and have gotten a big spike in new sign-ups to our list, which usually happens when people on the list forward a message to friends and co-workers.  Hopefully, this is the beginning period of a rapid growth in the movement to take the country back and build a real democracy."

Another toddler from Vermont (uppity Vermont toddlers): "Then the headline yesterday with the guy saying we will go into recession if Congress delays... When we are already in a recession, people!"

The bailout is sickening. It's disturbing. It's shortsighted, ill-conceived, and it will prolong the necessary impetus to change this country from the roots of our economy.  And what if it fails? Another $700 billion? Where does it stop? When will you actually do your job, Congress? What happened to the core conservative value of personal accountability? Small government? And President "Free-Market" Bush is pushing it hardest of all. Blarney. Shame on you all.
