In the grocery store cereal boxes scream from the shelves

               "FIGHT,   FIGHT,   FIGHT!

Pump up on vitamins and bran!

War on fat,          War on cholesterol,

War on calories,       Drink Nutrasweet victories!"

I polish my gun,    Polish my gun.

Blood streams from my lips--oozes between my teeth

             And I polish my gun.

I dance in the aisles

My necklace,  dripping packages of red meat

         in glistening plastic wrap,

My feet, Green stamp polished linoleum tiles.

Everywhere I go I polish my gun.

           Everywhere I go is war.

     Clown faces,          Lucky  Charms,

Flags and banners compete for attention.
