Above all else, this worries me most. Because if we're going to correct what ails our society, the courage to have compassion and forgive without trying to determine who's right and who's wrong is the first step.
When we refuse to accept another's point of view, no matter how repulsive we find it, there is no basis for constructive engagement. And if we cannot see there is less and less constructive engagement in America today; we're already beyond redemption.
