Quinn contrasts this "Taker" mentality to that of the "Leaver
Society." Leaver Societies are comprised of ancient hunting /
gathering and nomadic herders. Leavers are those that love and
serve all that is living around them. Leavers are healthy cells. In
essence, the Leavers leave Nature alone and only take what they
need with gratitude. Those things they eat, both animals and
plants, are not commodities or resources to be consumed, but are
honored and tended as fellow participants in life. Indeed, in
tribal cultures there is a deep sense of "we are what we eat." Its
a sharing of Souls. And what we are today is indeed a highly
processed, engineered commodity made "good" through the use of
chemicals and genetic engineering. We are indeed what we
eat...conditioned commodities designed to make someone rich.
Rob's bottom up movements are grassroots efforts that lead the way
to health by saying "no" to being "p*ssed on". If we imagine
ourselves as a pyramid with the top 1% at the tip-top, and
ourselves towards the bottom; what would happen to the top 1-5% if
the bottom 95 -- 99% said "no more" and decided to take themselves
out of the pyramid scheme? We have awakened to realize that
"trickle-down" economics are analogous to bodily fluids that
trickle down.
Our lives in this manifest world are in relationship more so than
hierarchy. Hierarchy exists in Nature, otherwise we wouldn't have
Queen Bees. But, alas, the Queen is dependent upon the Worker Bees
for her livelihood. And, indeed, the Worker Bees can overthrow the
Queen when they deem it appropriate and replace her with another
Queen. In more ways than one, bees are more "bottom up" than "top
down." They serve one another to serve the hive...and ultimately
all of life on earth. They don't theorize or sermonized about this;
they just DO IT.
When it is time for a group of bees to move, scouts fly out to find
good locations. These scouts return to communicate the locations
they have found through a dance. Those who are most enthusiastic
about the appropriateness of the spot they have found dance longest
and hardest, with the most flair. Eventually other bees start
dancing their dance, until, by concensus the whole hive is dancing
that dance, internalizing exactly how to get to their new home.
(And we thought WE invented democracy!)
As reflected on the back of a dollar bill, our thrust is towards
pyramidical power which describes the "top-down" ethos. Yet, one
must ask, "Without the base, won't the pyramid fall to the ground
and shatter into pieces?" Could this be the message we are to
deliver to the people destroying the planet and our lives....the
bankers, corporations and government institutions that don't know
their place in the world?
Yes, our human Queen Bees don't know whom they are dependent upon.
What happens if the self appointed Queen Bees of the planet win the
war against Nature's Worker bees? Who will do her work? Does this
bottom up importance of bees take Rob Kall's message of "bottom up"
rule to a planetary level in your mind? It does mine!
What happens when the bees become extinct? What effect will that
have on the planet? What effect will that have on our lives? If the
planet dies, what happens to us cells?
Regarding the bees, there are several actions we can all take,
outlined at Mercola.com if you want to do your part in helping out
the base. These are:
-
Support organic farmers and shop at local farmer's markets as often as possible. You can "vote with your fork" three times a day. (When you buy organic, you are making a statement by saying "no" to GMOs and toxic pesticides.)
-
Cut the use of toxic chemicals in your house and on your lawn, and use only organic, all-natural forms of pest control.
-
Better yet, get rid of your lawn altogether and plant a garden or other natural habitat. Lawns offer very little benefit for the environment. Both flower and vegetable gardens provide excellent natural honeybee habitats.
-
Become an amateur beekeeper. Having a hive in your garden requires only about an hour of your time per week, benefits your local ecosystem, and you can enjoy your own honey
-
Worldofbeekeeping.com and beekeeping.org are two websites that can help you get started.
All of these reflect Rob's "bottom up" methods to saving bees and, in turn, the planet. It all begins at the bottom, i.e., the reader of this article. In whatever fashion you can, do your part. As best you can work towards transcending the clutches of the corporate owned supermarket chains. Buy local. Know where your food is grown and where it is raised. Print local currencies, utilize time banks, rekindle the practice of barter for things other than the dollar, fight for public banks. Live a sustainable lifestyle. Listen to, watch, and read the grassroots opinions expressed on OpEd, Blog Talk Radio, and other alternative media not controlled by the corporate powers-that-be and the big banksters. Change begins with you and me, with a dedicated "we," working in concert from the bottom up.
