I don't suppose "my" editors had intended to present an illustration of comparative morality.

In the Iranian case a woman, albeit a murderer and an adulterer, is sentenced to death by stoning. Her accomplice, a male, is only given fifteen years. To begin with, how backward is stoning? Its so third world, so barbaric. Worse yet, it is the woman that's going to be executed, while the man just goes to prison. It is not only cruel and unusual punishment, but cruel sexist punishment.

..... if they will stone a woman to death what won't those monsters do....a muslim bomb is bad enough.....maybe they can have a few tanks or fighters.....but a male chauvinist bomb is scary....

Compared to this savagery, we have the modern contemporary approach of the western alliance fighting the Taliban and Al Queada in Pashtun lands. Two people, a woman and her child, are killed. This is one more victim than in Iran. Yet, there isn't the slightest thought given by our side to any sort of punishment- let alone stoning. None is called for because our victim's died accidentally.

...... hey buddy that's just the cost of doing business...you can't make an omelet.....

Despite the fact that such events are one hundred percent predictable when bombardment is chosen as our method of attack, we are told that it is inadvertent, unintentional, a mistake, a misfortune, just bad luck and very regrettable. We remain advanced, sympathetic civilized, and superior. If we hadn't killed her, we certainly would make sure that little girl had a school to go to.

What do you think? Which civilization is shown to have the better morality?

....yo Josef I heard Beria gave you the gas.....that's too bad because I wanted to tell ya something you son of a b*tch commie bastard.....you were wrong......an individual murder isn't a tragedy either......that's something we understand that you don't you ignorant pig...the last thing you are ever going to see is your buddies watch you croaking ......do you think they believe that snuffing you is a tragedy.....we won and you lost.....and we proved you were wrong you meathead....the death of one person isn't a tragedy......that's what your pals figured out.....you were just another abstract to them...how does it feel to be a statistic uncle Joe......

Stoning is a tragedy, oops is a statistic.
