The public has taken up the cry for reason, compassion and justice across the internet, including on the Facebook pages of both colleges.

Your inaction is disgusting and sickening. You're entire school should be ashamed something has not been done sooner. As said earlier, EXPEL Michael Nordianos. A post on FB will not suffice.
If you allow that sociopath back on campus you put everyone at risk! Did you see the weapon he had beside him while he was laughing about the rape? We don't need any more Virginia Tech's so please do what is right!
You have only one choice but to expel this student for his egregious behavior. He may not be held accountable criminally but surely you would not continue to provide a scholarship and a place at your university for someone so devoid of morals and basic humanity.
Expel Michael Colin Nodianos immediately! His behavior is beyond heinous
OSU is welcoming a rapist who laughed and reveled in the brutality he committed on the body of a young woman. The world is watching, OSU. Is your institution willing to condone rape?
OSU: put your money where your mouth is. If you truly find this crime deplorable, show no leniency about it! Your player's behavior reflects upon the whole team and the school. It is how swiftly and how strictly you respond to this behavior that shall be observed through history. If there is even a glint of a coverup or leniency, it will only cast a larger shadow on an already disgraced team

Ashland wrestler Jake Howarth of Steubenville, OH is a rapist. That means student tuition dollars are supporting a rapist attending your school. If Ashland doesn't rescind Jake Howarth's admission and wrestling scholarship, they will be sending a message that rape is okay and they don't care about the safety of their female students. Jake Howarth's actions are incredibly disturbing and evil, and Ashland needs to make it clear that they do not agree with or condone what this young man did. At least some of the multiple, premeditated rapes of a child took place at his house, and he is in Michael Nodianos's video making fun of the rape victim. Jake Howarth at the very least enabled the rapes to take place, but more likely is also a rapist himself. I hope he is eventually charged, but in the meantime, Ashland needs to revoke his admission and wrestling scholarship for the safety of their female students, and because it is the morally right thing to do.
" at the very least, it seems uncontroverted that he hosted a party at which dozens of underage people drank, at least two have been charged with committing a felony, and no one reported to police. Going to college is not a right, it's a privilege, and receiving a scholarship is a bigger privilege yet. I would think your school could find a much more deserving recipient for that honor.
Hopefully, they're reflecting on the campus creed:
"As a member of Ashland University, I will hold myself to the highest standards of academic, personal and social integrity; respect the dignity of each individual; honor the University's tradition and commitment to Judeo-Christian values; and serve others in our world community.
Written and Adopted by Student Senate
April 11, 2000"
Do these "highest standards" include "standing by and being complicit to rape"? Is that what you mean by "serve others in our world community"?
My New Year's Resolution: Don't give scholarships to anyone who would stand by and look the other way while a woman is brutalized. Pretty sure I can keep that resolution--how about you?
Ashland responded on a number of occasions:
Thank you for your comments. We are looking in to the situation.
