With Sanders talking about many of the same progressive issues with Democrats and Trump talking about them with Republicans, that has to be a good thing. It will force other candidates to address those issues or ignore them at their peril. Trump and Sanders are a sharp contrast with Hillary who is afraid to mix it up with the public and the Republicans who dance to the money of their masters.
The people in Trump's town hall audiences obviously believed him and they felt empowered by what he was saying and the way he was saying it. Trump knows where they are hurting, he was speaking to that pain, and he was saying what they obviously wanted to hear. The polls are showing that people on the right and left are saying: "I am mad as hell and I am not going to take this anymore ( watch )".
Progressives need to applaud Trump. He is destroying his Republican opponents who are off-message with their neoliberal rhetoric that is responsible for destroying the middle class and hurting the poor. The best thing that could happen is a presidential campaign between populists , with Sanders on the left and Trump on the right.
