President Obama Made a Serious Miscalculation

The Democrats and Obama miscalculated badly. The GOP is not renown for its milk of human kindness. Today's GOP, led by aging white men, corporate sponsorship, the Religious Right, anti-science types, and diehard neocons are entrenched in a staunch refusal to change their agenda. They are known for their tactics of attack, attack, attack. The argument that the Rice withdrawal will prompt Republican cooperation with other issues will not wash. Republicans are simply smirking over their victories, and they will want more from this spineless President. Don't look for cooperation and retreat from today's GOP, not in our lifetime, anyway.

When will they ever learn?
