It has come out in a Politico article that South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has been cleared of the accusation that he illegally used taxpayer funds to visit his mistress in Argentina. See http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090702/pl_politico/24472_1 . This should bring calls for his resignation to an end. While we're at it, why don't the two political parties agree to stop calling for the resignations of politicians who have consensual sex with adults in private?
A governor that should consider resigning is California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and he should resign for the main reason that anyone should lose his or her job and that is that he is not doing it effectively. This excellent article in Time Magazine by Kevin O'Leary, http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1907506,00.html , points out how much political capital Schwarzenegger had when he came to office and how ineffectively he used it to solve California's problems. O'Leary also shows how Governor Schwarzenegger is responsible for about $18 Billion of California's $24 Billion deficit. California's bankruptcy may be imminent and unavoidable and the buck stops at the Governor's office.
