Reportedly, she and Putin have had numerous phone discussions lately about Ukraine. Despite outwardly supporting her NATO allies demonizing Putin it's unimaginable she supports war with Russia, a war that would devastate ALL Europe including Germany-and likely incinerate the world with nuclear weapons.
So the outcome of this NATO summit is of immense importance.
From here, if NATO-with intense pressure from Washington votes to accept Ukraine as a member of NATO right on Russia's doorstep, Putin will know war with the US is coming.
Even if NATO grants Ukraine some special non-member status-similar to that granted to member states whereby if one is attacked the others are obligated to come directly to its defense-such a status could be interpreted by Putin as an imminent threat toward Russia. Even if he does not act immediately he knows from reading the history the US and its CIA are thoroughly experienced and capable of initiating "false flag" operations that could be made to appear Russia was behind the attacks.
The downing of the Malaysian airliner, based on evidence was most likely shot down by a Ukrainian jet fighter. Yet without a shred of evidence it was blamed on Russian separatists taking out the plane with a surface to air missile supplied by Russia. Yet the real evidence was discovered by OSCE observers later at the crash site showing unmistakable evidence of bullet holes in the cockpit that likely brought the plane down. But this "false flag" operation found its way into the US media "memory hole" because the story concocted by US officials wasn't "evidence" and didn't hold up to scrutiny.
It's more than a bit unnerving the world may be sitting at the precipice of a real nuclear exchange.
The NATO confab in Wales may reveal a telltale sign if that terrible scenario is in our future.
