[Actually, a much larger one was Valdez, with 11 million gallons. see this article: click here

and this, from the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council: How does the Exxon Valdez spill compare to other spills?
The Exxon Valdez spill, though still one of the largest ever in the United States, has dropped from the top 50 internationally (view a list of top oil spills worldwide). It is widely considered the number one spill worldwide in terms of damage to the environment, however. The timing of the spill, the remote and spectacular location, the thousands of miles of rugged and wild shoreline, and the abundance of wildlife in the region combined to make it an environmental disaster well beyond the scope of other spills.]Responses from the signers of the Petition asking Senate Intervention to Defend Standing Rock

Where was all this "law enforcement" when those racist yahoos in OR were doing this? Where was the tear gas, the bullets, the concussion grenades, etc.? Suddenly it becomes necessary because our nation's First People are the protesters? What, because they're not WHITE we go after them with everything we've got? I've had enough of this country supporting WHITE TERRORISTS while attacking those who are not white but who are exercising their lawful FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS! Watch out jack-booted thugs--Revolution is coming.

Meanwhile the President does nothing while the Original citizens of this nation are treated to inexcusable brutality by "government". And I'm afraid more to come if Trump is inaugurated.
Rosemary Rannes from Salem, NH
Standing Rock water protectors and supporters are unarmed, prayerful people who have been viciously and brutally attacked causing many severe injuries that required hospitalization. The inexcusable brutality and use of attack dogs are unwarranted against unarmed people.
Melissa Archibald from Temperance, MI
I have followed this story all along and am shocked at the violence that has been seen against the water protectors. So many people across the world are watching and the people have spoken over and over again about what we want. It is time for the Government to support the people.
