Even as the anointed favorite, little Donny's emotional bucket remained empty.
As a substitute for lost parental love, little Donny turned his "learned helplessness" into a powerful set of primitive defenses, a kind of grievance behavior that included hostility towards other, bullying, aggressiveness, disrespect, self-destructiveness, lack of shame, all in service of a feigned indifference to the lack of parental love.
Until this day, in little Donny's arrested-mind, "learned helplessness," is still equated with humiliation, despair, weakness and hopelessness.
Big Donny, still with the alter ego of little Donny, remains an emotional cripple because he never learned how to engage with the world. Five stars.
