It is that guns represent a regression rather than progression of civilization, elaborate though they may be.
And what do nukes represent, the invention of a man named the person of the millennium? They're even more automatic and even more primitive, and kill so many more with even less effort.
If we fight to keep them in the realm of ideas and threats and symbols rather than instruments of death, tell me this, MLK, wherever you are: Why do the same people who work to keep nukes on the ground support the NRA and carry guns?
I don't get it. At least they're afraid of nukes.
The one major power in the world that outlaws war and nukes, Japan, also has such a low murder rate. Is that any wonder? The possession of handguns is also prohibited.
