Then there's the answering machine on the other end of a call, particularly if it's a doctor's office, insurance agent, financial advisor. Are those people who used to answer the phone outsourced as well? Or the innocuous "Our menu has changed". How about spending time answering the phone instead of changing the damn menu. It feels as if it's technology run amok.
Then finally to end this little exercise there's these new age parents living vicariously through their kids i.e. plastering a bumper sticker "My child is an honor student at so and so elementary school" or saying "Good job" after the little tyke does anything. C'mon leave little Billy or Sally (are those names used anymore) alone. Just accept them as they are. Isn't that good enough?
